1. Preparing the car

* Stop the engine and let it cool for 10-15 minutes.
2. Drain old oil
* Locate the automatic transmission oil pan under the vehicle.
* Place a container to drain the oil under the pan.
*Using a wrench, loosen the drain bolt or nut on the oil pan.
*Be careful as the oil may be hot. Allow the oil to drain completely from the pan.
3. Replacing the automatic transmission filter
* Once the oil has drained, remove the oil pan from the vehicle.
* Locate the automatic transmission filter attached to the pan.
*Remove the old filter and install a new one.
* Place the new pan in place and tighten the drain bolt or nut using a torque wrench to the specified torque.
4. Filling with new oil
* Install a funnel into the automatic transmission filler hole.
* Fill the automatic transmission with new oil in accordance with the volume specified in the vehicle’s operating manual.
* Close the filler plug.
5. Starting the engine and checking the oil level
* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
* Move the gear selector to each position and hold it for a few seconds.
* Return the gear selector to Park (P).
* Check the oil level in the automatic transmission and add if necessary.
6. Cleaning the work area
* Clean up any spilled oil from the car and the ground.
