* Transmission fluid ATF
* Drain container
* Funnel for filling

Replacement procedure:

1. Security:
* Make sure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, with the parking brake applied and the engine turned off.
* Allow the engine to cool. The contents of the gearbox may be hot.

2. Draining transmission fluid:
* Locate the drain plug under the transmission pan and place a drain container under it.
* Unscrew the drain plug and drain the transmission fluid.
* Screw the drain plug back.

3. Removing the transmission pan:
* Remove the bolts around the transmission pan and carefully separate the pan from the housing.
* Remove the old gasket.

4. Installing a new gasket:
* Thoroughly clean the surfaces of the transmission pan and housing to remove any old gasket residue.
* Install a new gasket on the transmission pan.

5. Installing the transmission pan:
* Lift the transmission pan and install it in place.
*Tighten the bolts by hand and then use a torque wrench to tighten them to the torque specified in the owner’s manual.

6. Filling transmission fluid:
* Using a funnel, pour transmission fluid into the filler plug on the side of the transmission.
* Fill in approximately the same amount of liquid as you drained.

7. Checking the fluid level:
* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
* Check the fluid level through the inspection hole on the side of the transmission. Add liquid if necessary.

8. Check for leaks:
* Drive the vehicle for a short time and check for transmission fluid leaks from the transmission pan.

Additional tips:

*Use a good quality gasket designed for your specific Kia Rio model.
*Tighten the transmission pan bolts to the recommended torque to ensure proper sealing.
