Tools and materials:
* Tool kit
* Jack and supports
* 19 mm hex key
* 22 mm head
* Pliers
* New inner CV joint
Replacement process:
1. Preparation:
* Place the vehicle in park and make sure it is securely secured.
* Raise the front of the car using a jack and install supports.
2. Removing the drive shaft:
* Remove the wheel on the side where the CV joint needs to be replaced.
* Disconnect the steering knuckle from the steering knuckle using a 19mm hex wrench.
* Loosen the wheel hub nut.
* Unscrew the nut and remove the wheel hub.
* Remove the caliper and move it to the side without disconnecting the brake hose.
* Drive the drive shaft out of the wheel hub using a hammer and a suitable drift.
* Remove the drive shaft from the gearbox.
3. Removing the inner CV joint:
*Insert a 19mm hex key into the slot at the CV joint end of the drive shaft.
*Hold the drive shaft and remove the CV joint cap nut using a 22mm socket.
* Remove the cap nut, washer and boot.
* Using pliers or a special tool, remove the clamps and inner CV joint.
4. Installing a new inner CV joint:
* Clean the shaft and the inside of the CV joint from dirt and grease.
* Apply CV joint grease to the shaft and inside the CV joint.
* Install the new CV joint onto the shaft and tighten it with the cap nut. Tighten the nut to manufacturer specifications.
* Install the new boot, washer and cap nut and tighten it.
5. Drive shaft assembly:
* Insert the drive shaft into the gearbox and secure it.
*Place the wheel hub onto the shaft and tighten the nut.
* Attach the tie rod to the steering knuckle.
* Install the caliper and wheel.
6. Final actions:
* Lower the vehicle to the ground and tighten the wheel hub nut completely.
* Check the transmission fluid level and add it if necessary.
*Take a test drive to ensure the CV joint is operating properly.
