JOB DESCRIPTION CAR ELECTRICIAN
I. General provisions
1.1. This job description defines the functional duties, rights and responsibilities of an automobile electrician.
1.2. A person who has a secondary vocational education in the specialty “Electrician for car maintenance and repair” or a secondary general education and appropriate professional training is accepted for the position of a car electrician.
1.3. A car electrician reports directly to the head of a car service center or other official.
1.4. In his activities, a car electrician is guided by:
– current legislation of the Russian Federation;
– rules and regulations on labor protection, safety, fire safety;
– production instructions and technological regulations;
– this job description.
1.5. A car electrician should know:
– design and principles of operation of vehicles;
– design and principles of operation of electrical equipment of automobiles;
– electrical circuits of cars;
– diagnostics and methods for troubleshooting electrical equipment of cars;
– the procedure for carrying out maintenance and repair of electrical equipment of automobiles;
– rules and regulations of labor protection, safety and fire safety.
II. Functional responsibilities
A car electrician performs the following duties:
2.1. Diagnoses and eliminates faults in vehicle electrical equipment:
– checks the serviceability of electrical wiring, fuses and relays;
– diagnoses and repairs electronic control units;
– eliminates damage to electrical wiring, connectors and contacts;
– replaces faulty sensors and actuators;
– eliminates malfunctions in the ignition and power systems;
– eliminates malfunctions in lighting and alarm systems;
– eliminates malfunctions in heating and ventilation systems.
2.2. Carrying out maintenance of electrical equipment of vehicles:
– checks the condition of electrical wiring and connectors;
– cleans contacts from oxidation;
– lubricates moving parts and mechanisms;
– checks the performance of electrical equipment in different modes.
2.3. Repairs electrical equipment of cars:
– replaces faulty components and assemblies;
– carries out welding and soldering work;
– manufactures electrical wiring and connectors.
2.4. Prepares technical documentation for work performed:
– fills out work orders;
– draws up reports on identified defects;
– keeps a log of work performed.
III. Rights
A car electrician has the right:
3.1. Request the necessary information and materials from the service center management.
3.2. Make proposals to improve work methods and increase production efficiency.
3.3. Refuse to perform work if this may lead to a violation of safety rules or damage to equipment.
3.4. Demand that the management of the car service center ensure safe working conditions.
IV. Responsibility
A car electrician is responsible for:
4.1. Quality and timeliness of performance of duties.
4.2. Safety of equipment and tools.
4.3. Compliance with labor protection, safety and fire safety rules and regulations.
4.4. Material damage caused to an enterprise due to failure to perform or improper performance of one’s duties.
