Position: Automotive electrician

I. General provisions

1. This job description has been developed and approved in accordance with the Labor Code of the Russian Federation and other regulations.
2. A car electrician is appointed to the position and dismissed from it by order of the General Director on the recommendation of the Technical Director.
3. The vehicle electrician reports directly to the technical director (workshop manager).
4. A person who has a secondary vocational education in the relevant specialty and work experience in the profession of at least 1 year is appointed to the position of automobile electrician.
5. A car electrician must know:
* design and principle of operation of electrical equipment of cars, tractors, trailers and semi-trailers;
* rules for technical operation, maintenance and repair of electrical equipment of automobiles;
* traffic rules, labor protection and fire safety;
* design and principle of operation of stands, devices and tools for diagnosing and repairing electrical equipment of cars;
* list of materials used, spare parts and operating materials;
* technical documentation for cars, electrical equipment and materials.

II. Job responsibilities

An automobile electrician performs the following job responsibilities:

1. Conducts diagnostics, current and major repairs of electrical equipment of cars, tractors, trailers and semi-trailers.
2. Repairs and replaces electrical wiring, electronic control units, sensors, generators, starters, batteries and other electrical equipment.
3. Installs and configures additional electrical equipment (alarms, speaker systems, navigation equipment, etc.).
4. Conducts scheduled and unscheduled inspections of the condition of electrical equipment of cars, tractors, trailers and semi-trailers.
5. Participates in activities to prepare vehicles for technical inspection.
6. Keeps records of work performed, consumable materials and spare parts.
7. Complies with labor protection, fire safety and industrial sanitation rules.
8. Follows the instructions of the technical director (workshop manager) and other officials within his competence.

III. Rights

A car electrician has the right to:

1. Request and receive necessary information and documentation from other departments and officials of the enterprise.
2. Submit proposals to the technical director (workshop manager) to improve their work.
3. Take part in the discussion of issues related to its activities.

IV. Responsibility

A vehicle electrician is responsible for:

1. Improper performance of one’s official duties.
2. Causing material damage to the enterprise.
3. Violation of labor protection, fire safety and industrial sanitation rules.

V. Relationships by position

To perform his job duties, an automobile electrician interacts with:

1. With the technical director (workshop manager) and other car service workers on issues of car repair and maintenance.
2. With warehouse employees regarding the provision of spare parts and materials.
