Materials:
* New automatic transmission radiator
* Antifreeze
* Funnel
* Wrench or ratchet
* Sockets or wrenches
* Pliers
* Rags
Preparation:
1. Wait until the engine has cooled down before starting work.
2. Secure the vehicle with the parking brake.
3. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
Removing the old radiator:
1. Drain the antifreeze from the radiator into a suitable container. To do this, locate the drain plug at the bottom of the radiator and open it.
2. Disconnect the upper and lower hoses from the radiator. Use pliers to remove the clamps.
3. Unscrew the bolts securing the radiator to the car. They are usually located at the top and bottom of the radiator.
4. Carefully remove the radiator from the car.
Installing a new radiator:
1. Install a new radiator in the car.
2. Screw in the bolts securing the radiator and tighten them.
3. Connect the upper and lower hoses to the radiator and secure them with clamps.
4. Fill the radiator with antifreeze to the level specified by the manufacturer. Use a funnel to avoid spilling.
5. Close the drain plug if it is not already closed.
Final check:
1. Check all connections for leaks.
2. Start the engine and let it idle.
3. Check the antifreeze level in the expansion tank and add if necessary.
4. Check transmission operation. It should work smoothly and without interruption.
Adviсe:
* When replacing the automatic transmission radiator, it is recommended to also replace the gasket.
*If you don’t have access to the drain plug, you can disconnect the hose leading to the bottom of the radiator and drain the fluid from there.
* Do not twist the hoses when connecting them to the radiator.
* Dispose of old antifreeze according to local regulations.
