Required materials:
* Additional automatic transmission cooling radiator
*Transmission fluid hoses
* Hose clamps
* Tools (wrench, screwdrivers, pliers)
Installation steps:
1. Prepare the vehicle: Raise the vehicle on a jack or lift and install wheel chocks. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Disconnect the automatic transmission hoses: Loosen the hose clamps at the inlet and outlet of the existing automatic transmission cooling radiator. Disconnect the hoses and drain the transmission fluid into a container.
3. Remove existing radiator: Remove the bolts securing the existing transmission cooler and carefully lift it out.
4. Install an additional radiator: Attach the new radiator to the mounting points on the vehicle using bolts. Make sure the radiator is installed at the correct angle and that the hose holes are aligned.
5. Connect the hoses: Place the hoses onto the auxiliary radiator inlets and outlets and tighten the clamps. Make sure connections are tight.
6. Fill transmission fluid: Pour transmission fluid into the transmission through the fill plug. The amount and type of fluid to be used is specified in the vehicle’s owner’s manual.
7. Start the engine: Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes. This will allow transmission fluid to circulate through the new radiator.
8. Check the fluid level: After running for a few minutes, stop the engine and check the transmission fluid level. Add fluid if necessary.
9. Remove the vehicle: Lower the vehicle from a jack or lift and remove the wheel chocks. Install the negative terminal of the battery.
