Possible reasons:

1. Low transmission fluid (ATF) level

* Insufficient ATF levels can cause the clutches to slip or vibrate, resulting in jerky shifting.

2. Contaminated ATF

* Contaminated ATF can clog transmission filters or valves, affecting smooth shifting.

3. Malfunction of solenoids

* Solenoids control the flow of ATF in the transmission and their malfunction can cause incorrect gear shifting.

4. Wear of friction clutches

* The clutches used to engage gears can wear out over time, causing slipping and jerking.

5. Torque converter malfunction

* The torque converter provides smooth shifting and a malfunction may cause jerking or vibration.

6. Mechanical problems

* Wear or damage to internal transmission components, such as gears or shafts, can cause shifting to be jerky.

7. Electronic control problems

*Sensors, wires, or the transmission control module may be malfunctioning, affecting shifting.

What to do:

* Check ATF level and add if necessary.
* Replace ATF and filter if dirty.
* Have a mechanic diagnose and repair any problems with solenoids, clutches, torque converter or mechanical components.
* Correct electrical problems if suspected.
*Consider resetting the adaptive transmission settings if possible.
