Checking the automatic transmission oil level in Hyundai Tucson

Materials:

*Clean cloth or napkins
* Dipstick for automatic transmission

Procedure:

1. Warm up the vehicle: Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes until it reaches operating temperature.
2. Place the vehicle on a level surface: Place the vehicle on a level and stable surface and set the parking brake.
3. Remove the automatic transmission dipstick: Open the hood and locate the automatic transmission dipstick. It is usually located near the engine or at the rear of the transmission. Pull it out of the tube.
4. Wipe the dipstick: Wipe the end of the dipstick with a clean cloth or tissue.
5. Reinsert the dipstick and remove it: Insert the dipstick back into the tube and remove it completely.
6. Inspect the dipstick: There will be two marks on the end of the dipstick: “HOT” and “COLD”. The oil level should be between these two marks.
7. Check the color and smell of the oil: Automatic transmission oil should be red or pink. If it looks brown or black, or has a burning smell, it may indicate the oil needs to be changed.
8. If necessary, add oil: If the oil level is below the “COLD” mark, you need to add fluid. Use only the type of automatic transmission oil recommended by the manufacturer.
9. Check the oil level again: Insert and remove the dipstick again to check the oil level. Make sure it is between the “HOT” and “COLD” marks.
10. Reset the code: After checking the oil level, reset the code on the instrument panel. This can be done by disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery for 30 seconds and then reconnecting it.

Note:

* Check the automatic transmission oil level only with the engine idling.
*Do not overheat the oil. If the oil is too hot, the readings may not be accurate.
* If you notice a significant oil leak from your automatic transmission, contact a qualified mechanic immediately.
