* New Hyundai SP-III gear oil or compatible
* New automatic transmission oil filter
* Automatic transmission pan gasket
* Brush with metal bristles
* Container for draining used oil
* Screwdriver
* Keys and sockets
* Funnel

Instructions for changing the oil in a Hyundai Trajet automatic transmission:

1. Preparation

* Put the car on the parking brake.
* Allow the engine to cool.
* Place a container under the car to drain used oil.

2. Draining used oil

* Find the automatic transmission pan.
* Unscrew the pan drain plug and drain the oil into a container.
* Replace the drain plug with a new one and tighten it to the torque specified in the repair manual.

3. Removing the pan and replacing the filter

* Unscrew the bolts securing the automatic transmission pan to the housing.
* Carefully remove the pan, being careful not to spill any remaining oil.
*Remove the old oil filter and install a new one.
* Clean the tray and magnet of any metal shavings using a wire brush.

4. Installation of the pallet

* Install a new pan gasket onto the pan.
* Connect the pan to the body and tighten the bolts to the torque specified in the repair manual.

5. Filling with new oil

* Measure the amount of drained oil and add the same amount of new oil to the automatic transmission through the dipstick.
* Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
* Shift the gear lever to different positions so that the oil flows through all channels.
* Check the oil level and add if necessary.

6. Resetting the automatic transmission service counter

* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for 10 minutes.
* Connect the battery terminal.
* Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
* Press the brake pedal 10 times within 10 seconds.
* Turn off the ignition.

Important Tips:

* Change the automatic transmission oil and filter in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations, usually every 60,000 – 90,000 km.
* Use only gear oil recommended by the manufacturer.
* A high-quality automatic transmission filter significantly extends the service life of the transmission.
* If the oil in the automatic transmission has darkened or has a burning smell, contact a car service center for diagnosis and repair.
