Location of the automatic transmission oil temperature sensor in Hyundai Sonata:
The automatic transmission oil temperature sensor is located on the automatic transmission oil pan.
Replacement procedure:
Tools:
* Wrench set
* Oil pan
* New O-ring for sensor
Steps:
1. Place the vehicle on a level surface and set the parking brake.
2. Locate the automatic transmission oil pan under the car.
3. Clean the area around the oil temperature sensor of dirt and debris.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
5. Use the correct size wrench to unscrew the sensor from the oil pan.
6. Remove the old O-ring from the sensor.
7. Apply a small amount of new transmission oil to the new O-ring and slide it onto the sensor.
8. Screw the sensor back into the oil pan by hand.
9. Tighten the sensor with a wrench to manufacturer specifications.
10. Connect the electrical connector to the sensor.
11. Check the transmission oil level and add if necessary.
Note:
* When replacing the sensor, it is recommended to drain and replace the transmission oil.
*Do not over-tighten the sensor as this may damage it or the oil pan.
