Guide to using the Hyundai Solaris automatic transmission

Gear Shifter:

* P (Parking): Activated when parked for a long time. Installed only when the car is completely stopped and the brake is pressed.
* R (Reverse): Used to move the vehicle in reverse. Set after coming to a complete stop and pressing the unlock button on the gear selector.
* N (Neutral): Transmission is disabled. Installed during short stops or when towing.
*D (Drive): Used to automatically shift gears under all normal driving conditions.
*2: Limits gear shifting to second gear, useful when driving on slippery or hilly surfaces.
* L: Limits gear changes to first gear, recommended for off-road driving or towing heavy loads.

Using automatic transmission:

1. Starting the engine:
* Press and hold the brake pedal.
* Switch to P or N position.
* Start the engine.

2. Gear shift:
* Move the gear selector to the desired position.
* Release the brake pedal and the car will start moving.

3. Parking:
* Stop the car.
* Press and hold the brake pedal.
* Switch to P position.
* Pull up the handbrake lever.
* Release the brake pedal.

Tips for using automatic transmission:

* Avoid sudden acceleration and braking as this may cause wear to the gearbox.
* Use positions 2 or L only for short distances.
* Do not put the vehicle in park position (P) while it is moving.
*When stopping on a slope, use the handbrake rather than the P position for added safety.
* Check the transmission fluid level regularly and, if necessary, add it to the required level.
* Perform routine technical inspections of automatic transmissions in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
