Required tools:

* 10 mm spanner
* Flat head screwdriver
* New automatic transmission temperature sensor

Replacement procedure:

1. Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.

2. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

3. Determine the location of the automatic transmission temperature sensor. On Hyundai Solaris it is usually located on the automatic transmission housing from the engine compartment.

4. Using a 10 mm socket wrench, unscrew the nut securing the sensor.

5. Using a flathead screwdriver, carefully pry and disconnect the sensor from the connector.

6. Install the new sensor in place.

7. Connect the connector to the sensor.

8. Tighten the sensor mounting nut using a 10 mm spanner.

9. Connect the negative terminal of the battery.

10. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.

11. Using a diagnostic scanner or on-board computer, check the readings of the automatic transmission temperature sensor. They should be normal (approximately 80-100 °C with a warm engine).

Adviсe:

*Use a quality sensor.
* Clean the surface of the automatic transmission housing and sensor connector before installing a new sensor.
* Tighten the sensor mounting nut to the torque recommended by the manufacturer.
