Hyundai Solaris automatic transmission sensors

Transmission Position Sensor (PRND)

*Located on the transmission control unit.
* Monitors the position of the gear selector (P, R, N, D, S).
* Sends information to the electronic control unit (ECU) to select the appropriate gear ratio.

Input Shaft Speed Sensor (ISS)

*Located inside the gearbox on the input shaft.
* Monitors the rotation speed of the transmission input shaft.
* Provides the ECU with the information needed to control gear shifting.

Output Shaft Speed Sensor (OSS)

* Located inside the gearbox on the output shaft.
* Monitors the rotation speed of the transmission output shaft.
* Helps the ECU determine the proper gear shift point.

Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) Sensor

* Typically located in the transmission pan.
* Monitors transmission fluid temperature.
*Informs the ECU when the shift strategy needs to be changed due to high or low fluid temperature.

Pressure sensor (PS)

*Located in the transmission valve body.
* Monitors transmission fluid pressure.
* Provides the ECU with the information needed to control fluid flow and gear shifting.

Throttle Position Sensor (TPS)

*Located on the throttle body.
* Monitors throttle position.
* Sends information to the ECU, which is used to determine when to shift gears.
