Adaptation of Hyundai Grand Starex automatic transmission
Target:
Adaptation of the automatic transmission is necessary for the correct operation of the gearbox and accurate and smooth gear changes.
Required equipment:
* Hyundai GDS diagnostic scanner
Adaptation process:
1. Preparation:
* Place the car in parking.
* Turn off the engine and wait a few minutes.
2. Connecting the scanner:
*Connect the GDS diagnostic scanner to the car.
3. Selecting an adaptation option:
* From the GDS scanner menu, select ‘Transmission’ > ‘Automatic Transmission’ > ‘Special Functions’ > ‘Automatic Transmission Adaptation’.
4. Adaptation process:
* The scanner will display a message with instructions.
* Follow the on-screen instructions to move the shift lever between different positions.
* The adaptation process will take a few minutes.
5. Completion of adaptation:
* When adaptation is complete, the scanner will display a message indicating this.
* Turn off the engine.
*Wait a few minutes.
* Start the engine and check the operation of the automatic transmission.
Additionally:
* It is recommended to adapt the automatic transmission after replacing or repairing the gearbox, as well as when changing gear shift characteristics.
* If, after adaptation, problems with gear shifting do not disappear, further diagnostics and repair of the automatic transmission may be required.
* The adaptation should be performed by a qualified mechanic with a diagnostic scanner.
