Hyundai Getz automatic transmission speed sensors
Hyundai Getz with automatic transmission uses two speed sensors:
1. Transmission Speed Sensor (TSS)
*Located on the transmission near the left drive shaft.
* Monitors the speed of rotation of the transmission output shaft and sends a signal to the transmission control module (TCM).
* Used to control gear shifting and torque converter lock-up.
2. Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS)
*Located at the rear of the differential housing (or rear wheel, depending on model).
* Monitors vehicle speed and sends a signal to the Engine Control Module (ECM).
*Used to control Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) and Traction Control (TCS).
Symptoms of faulty automatic transmission speed sensors:
* Problems with gear shifting
* Slipping or jerking when shifting gears
*Transmission fault indicator lights up
* Uneven acceleration or jerking
* Unstable speedometer
Possible causes of malfunction of automatic transmission speed sensors:
* Faulty sensor
* Damaged wiring or connectors
* Accumulation of dirt or metal shavings on the sensor
*TCM or ECM malfunction
