Required tools and materials:
* New differential
* New transmission oil
* Transmission pan gasket
*Torque key
* Car repair tool kit
* Jack and supports
* Bucket for draining oil
Steps:
1. Preparing the car
* Place the vehicle on a level surface and apply the parking brake.
* Open the hood and disconnect the battery.
* Raise the front of the car using a jack and place it on supports.
2. Drain transmission oil
* Locate the drain plug on the transmission oil pan.
* Place a bucket under the plug and carefully unscrew it.
* Allow the oil to drain completely.
3. Removing the differential
* Disconnect the drive shafts from the differential.
* Remove the bolts holding the differential to the crankcase.
* Carefully remove the differential from its seat.
4. Installing a new differential
* Clean the contact surfaces on the differential and crankcase.
* Install a new gasket on the oil pan.
* Reinstall the new differential and tighten it with the bolts to the specified torque.
* Connect the drive shafts to the differential.
5. Filling transmission oil
* Screw in the drain plug and tighten it.
* Fill in new transmission oil through the filler hole.
* Bring the oil level to the manufacturer’s recommended level.
6. Final assembly
* Connect the battery.
* Lower the vehicle and dispose of the used oil and filter.
Tightening torque:
* Differential bolts: 100 Nm
* Oil pan drain plug: 33 Nm
