Materials required to replace the Hyundai automatic transmission oil filter:

* New automatic transmission oil filter
* Automatic transmission oil pan gasket
* Transmission fluid (ATF)
* Wrench set or ratchet wrench
* Funnel
* Rags or paper towels

Instructions for replacing the Hyundai automatic transmission oil filter:

1. Place the car on a lift or over a pit. Make sure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and in the park position.

2. Warm up the engine and automatic transmission. Drive a few kilometers to warm up the transmission fluid. This will make it easier to drain.

3. Open the hood and find the automatic transmission oil dipstick. It is usually yellow or orange and has a label indicating the type of transmission fluid. Remove the dipstick and wipe it with a clean cloth. This will give you a mark of the current fluid level.

4. Get under the car and find the automatic transmission oil pan. This is the large aluminum or steel piece at the bottom of the transmission.

5. Assemble the transmission fluid drain pan. Place a pan under the automatic transmission oil pan.

6. Loosen the oil pan bolts. Use a wrench or ratchet to carefully loosen the bolts around the edges of the oil pan. Be careful not to overtighten the bolts.

7. Remove the oil pan. Carefully separate the oil pan from the transmission housing. Allow the liquid to drain into the pan.

8. Replace the oil filter. Remove the old oil filter from the automatic transmission housing. Apply a small amount of new transmission fluid to the new filter’s O-ring and push it into place.

9. Reinstall the oil pan. Install a new oil pan gasket and carefully tighten the bolts. Tighten the bolts evenly on a diagonal to prevent leaks.

10. Add transmission fluid. Insert a funnel into the automatic transmission oil dipstick and add transmission fluid to the same level as before draining.

11. Check the fluid level. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes. Then check the fluid level using the oil dipstick. Add fluid if necessary.

12. Reset the transmission fluid change counter (if applicable). Some Hyundai vehicles are equipped with a transmission fluid change meter. Consult your owner’s manual for instructions on how to reset the meter after changing the fluid.

Adviсe:

*Only use the transmission fluid recommended for your specific Hyundai model.
* When tightening the oil pan bolts, follow the specified tightening torque.
* Immediately after changing the transmission fluid, drive a few miles to circulate the new fluid through the system.
*Check the transmission fluid level regularly and top up if necessary.
