Replacing sensors on a Hyundai Accent with automatic transmission

Tools and materials:

* New sensor or sensors
* Wrench or ratchet
* Extension and heads
* Flat blade screwdriver
* Torque wrench (optional)

Procedure:

Speed ​​sensor:

1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Raise the front of the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.
3. Locate the speed sensor, which is usually located on the transmission or drive shaft.
4. Disconnect the wiring harness from the sensor.
5. Unscrew the sensor securing bolt and pull it out.
6. Install the new sensor and tighten the bolt.
7. Connect the wiring harness.

Throttle position sensor:

1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Remove the negative air duct from the throttle body.
3. Locate the throttle position sensor (TPS), which is usually located on the side of the throttle body.
4. Remove the TPS bolts and disconnect the wiring harness.
5. Clean the surface of the throttle body and new TPS.
6. Install the new TPS and tighten the bolts.
7. Connect the wiring harness.
8. Install the intake manifold air duct.

Coolant temperature sensor:

1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Locate the coolant temperature sensor (CTS), which is usually located on the top of the cylinder head.
3. Disconnect the wiring harness from the CTS.
4. Unscrew the sensor and replace it with a new one.
5. Connect the wiring harness.

Oil pressure sensor:

1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Locate the oil pressure switch (OPS), which is usually located on the cylinder block.
3. Disconnect the wiring harness from the OPS.
4. Unscrew the sensor and replace it with a new one.
5. Connect the wiring harness.

Crankshaft position sensor:

1. Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Locate the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor, which is usually located on the rear of the engine near the flywheel.
3. Disconnect the wiring harness from the sensor.
4. Unscrew the sensor and replace it with a new one.
5. Connect the wiring harness.

Adviсe:

* Before replacing sensors, clean the surrounding surfaces.
*When reinstalling sensors, use a torque wrench to achieve the required torque if specified.
*After replacing the sensors, reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery and waiting a few minutes.
* Before replacing sensors, consult your specific vehicle model’s service manual to ensure the procedure is correct.
