To check the oil level in a Hyundai Accent automatic transmission, follow these steps:

Materials:

*Clean rag or paper towel

Instructions:

1. Warm up the engine: Start the engine and let it idle for about 5 minutes or until it reaches operating temperature.
2. Place the shift lever in Park: Make sure the shift lever is in the “P” (Park) position.
3. Open the hood: Pull the hood release lever under the instrument panel and lift the hood. Lock it in the open position.
4. Find the automatic transmission oil level dipstick: The dipstick is usually painted red and is located next to the engine. It may be labeled “ATF” (transmission fluid).
5. Pull out the dipstick: Carefully pull the dipstick out of the tube.
6. Wipe the dipstick: Wipe the dipstick with a clean rag or paper towel.
7. Insert the dipstick back into the tube: Carefully push the dipstick back into the tube until it stops. However, do not screw it in.
8. Pull out the dipstick again: Pull out the dipstick again and check the oil level.
9. Determine the oil level: There will be two marks on the dipstick – lower and upper. The oil level should be between these marks, closer to the top.

Note:

* Do not overfill the automatic transmission with oil. This may damage the transmission.
*If the oil level is low, add the appropriate transmission fluid recommended for your vehicle.
* If the oil level is too high or you notice a leak, contact a qualified mechanic.
