Materials:

*Light for automatic transmission (check owner’s manual for exact type)
* Pliers or tweezers
*Gloves (optional)

Steps:

1. Stop the engine and set the parking brake. This will ensure your safety when working on the transmission.

2. Find the automatic transmission panel. It is usually located on or near the car’s center console.

3. Remove the decorative panel. Use pliers or tweezers to carefully pry the panel away from the transmission panel.

4. Find the automatic transmission light. The light bulb will be located behind the decorative panel. This is a small clear or colored light bulb that illuminates the gear position indicators.

5. Take out the old light bulb. Hold the base of the bulb firmly and pull it straight out of the socket.

6. Install a new light bulb. Insert the new light bulb into the socket, pressing straight into the base until it clicks. Make sure the light bulb is properly secured.

7. Reinstall the decorative panel. Align the decorative panel with the automatic transmission panel and press it to secure it.

8. Turn on the engine and check the new bulb. Shift the automatic transmission gears and make sure that the indicators are illuminated correctly.

* Use gloves to avoid fingerprints on the lamp rim.
*If you are unsure about the type of automatic transmission light, please refer to your owner’s manual.
* If the new light does not light, check the automatic transmission fuses.
