Purpose:
The torque converter seal prevents transmission fluid from leaking from the torque converter into the automatic transmission housing.
Signs of malfunction:

Replacement:
Replacing the torque converter oil seal requires disassembling the automatic transmission. It is recommended that you have a qualified mechanic perform this procedure.
