Using the “One” button on an automatic transmission
Purpose: To lock the transmission in first gear for use in extreme situations such as:
* Getting stuck in mud or snow
* Riding on steep slopes
*Heavy towing
Instructions:
1. Stop the car. Move the automatic transmission selector to the “Parking” position (P).
2. Turn on the engine.
3. Press and hold the One button. It is usually located next to the automatic transmission selector or on the instrument panel.
4. Move the automatic transmission selector to the “One” position (1). The button should release, confirming the activation of the first gear mode.
Features of the “One” mode:
* The gearbox is locked in first gear.
*Upgrading to higher gears is not possible.
* The vehicle remains in first gear until it is manually shifted or the “One” button is canceled.
Disabling the “Single” mode:
* To exit first gear mode, press the “One” button again or move the automatic transmission selector to the “Parking” (P) position.
Warnings:
*Do not use first gear mode under normal driving conditions. This can lead to premature wear of the gearbox.
*Do not use first gear mode at high speed. This may damage the transmission.
* Use caution when using the One button as the vehicle may be less stable when cornering and under hard acceleration.
