Shifting gears
1. Start: Press the brake pedal and move the gear lever to position D (Drive).
2. Driving forward: Release the brake pedal and press the accelerator pedal to start moving. The car will automatically change gears as it gains speed.
3. Neutral: Move the gearshift lever to the N (Neutral) position when stopping at a traffic light or in a traffic jam.
4. Parking: Move the gear shift lever to the P (Park) position when parking the vehicle.
Sport mode
*Some Polo models have Sport (S) mode. Move the gearshift lever to S to improve throttle response and change shift points.
Tiptronic mode
* Several Polo models also have Tiptronic mode (or manual gear shift). Use the gear shift lever to select the desired gear:
* `+` (plus): up gears
* `-` (minus): down gears
Adviсe
*Always press the brake pedal before changing gears.
* Do not use Neutral (N) mode when coasting.
* Do not change gears while driving in Park (P) mode.
* Check the transmission fluid level regularly.

Keys on the gearshift lever
*Some Polos have the following buttons on the gear lever:
*PRNDS: Displays the current transmission mode (Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, Sport).
* + / -: Used for manual gear shifting in Tiptronic mode.
