Materials:
* Hex wrench (special wrench for torque converter)
* Extension cord
* Ratchet
Instructions:
1. Security:
* Make sure the car is parked and the wheels are locked.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Cool the engine and transmission before starting work.
2. Preparation:
* Remove the lower engine guard (if equipped).
* Locate the bolts connecting the torque converter to the flywheel. Usually there are from 3 to 6.
3. Unscrewing the bolts:
* Place the hex key on the bolt.
* Connect the extension cord to the key.
* Connect the ratchet to the extension cord.
* Slowly and carefully unscrew the bolts until they are loosened.
4. Removing the torque converter:
*Once all bolts are loose, carefully remove the torque converter from the flywheel.
*Hold it straight to prevent oil from spilling.
5. Inspection and replacement:
* Inspect the torque converter and flywheel for damage or wear.
* Replace worn or damaged parts as necessary.
6. Installation:
* Install the new or repaired torque converter back onto the flywheel.
* Tighten the bolts using a ratchet and hex wrench.
* Tighten the bolts evenly and in stages.
7. Completion:
* Reinstall the lower engine guard.
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Check the transmission fluid level and add if necessary.
Cautions:
* Be careful not to drop the torque converter.
* Do not overtighten the bolts as this may damage the torque converter or flywheel.
