Materials:

* Ratchet driver
* Socket or socket wrench of suitable size
* Hammer (preferably rubber)
* Flathead screwdriver or chisel

Steps:

1. Precautions:

* Make sure the car is parked and the wheels are locked.
* Disconnect the battery to prevent accidental starting of the engine.

2. Remove the protective cover:

* Locate the crankshaft pulley guard, which is usually secured with several bolts.
* Remove the bolts and cover to access the pulley.

3. Loosen the crankshaft pulley bolt:

* *For cars with automatic transmission:*
* Have an assistant press the brake pedal to lock the transmission in the park position (P).
* Place a suitable size wrench on the crankshaft pulley bolt and slowly turn it counterclockwise until it loosens.
* *For vehicles with manual transmission:*
* Place the vehicle in neutral (N).
*Insert a flathead screwdriver or chisel into one of the flywheel teeth through the hole in the bell housing.
* While holding a screwdriver or chisel, rotate the crankshaft pulley bolt counterclockwise until it loosens.

4. Unscrew the crankshaft pulley bolt:

* After loosening the bolt, remove the assistant from the brake pedal or remove the screwdriver/chisel from the flywheel.
* Place a spanner or socket wrench on the crankshaft pulley bolt and continue turning it counterclockwise until it is completely loose.

5. Remove the crankshaft pulley:

* Gently pull the crankshaft pulley with your hands. If it doesn’t budge, tap it lightly with a rubber mallet.
* Remove the crankshaft pulley from the crankshaft.

Adviсe:

*If the pulley has threads, apply lubricant to the threads before tightening.
* ??Tighten the crankshaft pulley bolt to the recommended torque only.
* When reinstalling, be sure to install a new self-locking bolt.
