Using a screwdriver or crowbar to lock??? flywheel wheel:
1. Locate the flywheel access holes: These are usually located at the rear of the engine or on the transmission bellhousing.
2. Insert a screwdriver or pry bar into the hole: Insert it into the flywheel tooth, turning the tool until it locks.
3. Remove the pulley bolt: Use a wrench with the appropriate socket to loosen the pulley bolt while keeping the flywheel locked.
4. Remove the pulley: Once the bolt is loosened, you can remove the pulley by hand or using a puller.
Using the special tool to lock the flywheel:
1. Install Tool: Attach the special flywheel locking tool to the transmission bellhousing or rear of the engine.
2. Lock the handwheel: Rotate the tool to lock the handwheel, preventing it from rotating.
3. Remove the pulley bolt: Use a wrench with the appropriate socket to loosen and remove the pulley bolt.
4. Remove the pulley: Remove the pulley by hand or using a puller.
Using two screwdrivers:
1. Insert screwdrivers into the flywheel teeth: Use two screwdrivers of different sizes. Insert them into the flywheel teeth from opposite sides, resting the ends against the engine housing or gearbox.
2. Remove the pulley bolt: While holding the screwdrivers in place, use a wrench with the appropriate socket to loosen and remove the pulley bolt.
3. Remove the pulley: Remove the pulley by hand or using a puller.
Note:
* Do not attempt to remove the pulley unless the flywheel is locked. This may damage the engine.
* Be careful when using screwdrivers as they may slip and injure you.
