Method 1: Using the gear shift lever
1. Turn on the ignition.
2. Press the brake pedal.
3. Move the shift lever to the Park (P) position.
4. While holding the brake pedal, pull the lock lever.
5. Turn the gear shift lever to the desired position.
Method 2: Using Emergency Mode
1. Turn on the ignition.
2. Make sure the shift lever is in the Park (P) position.
3. Press the engine start button.
4. Release the engine start button when the Check Engine Light (CEL) illuminates.
5. Within 30 seconds, press and release the accelerator pedal seven times.
6. Press the engine start button again.
7. The gear shift lever should now unlock.

*If none of these methods work, you may need to take it to a mechanic for a diagnosis.
*Some Mercedes models may have an electronic locking system that requires special tools to unlock.
