Materials:
* 12 mm wrench
* Pliers
Instructions:
1. Place the gear shift lever in Park (P) position.
2. Get under the car. This may require a lift or a set of ramps.
3. Locate the shift cable. It will be located under the hood and will connect to the shifter by going through a hole in the firewall.
4. Unscrew the cable tension bolt. The bolt is usually located where the cable connects to the gear shift lever.
5. Move the cable to the tension position. Use pliers to gently pull the cable away from the engine.
6. Tighten the tension bolt. Tighten the bolt enough to create a slight tension on the cable, but do not overtighten it.
7. Check tension. Try changing gears and make sure they shift smoothly and without slipping. If necessary, repeat steps 4 through 6 to further adjust the tension.
Adviсe:
* If the cable is too tight, it may cause difficulty shifting gears.
* If the cable is not tensioned enough, it may cause the gears to slip.
* It is recommended to check the cable tension at each scheduled maintenance.
