Method 1: Using a diagnostic scanner
1. Connect the diagnostic scanner to the OBD-II connector of your vehicle.
2. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
3. Select the “Transmission” or “Gearbox” section in the scanner menu.
4. Find the option “Reset adaptation” or “Transmission calibration”.
5. Follow the instructions on the scanner screen to complete the reset.
Method 2: Manual reset procedure
For cars with automatic transmission 6HP19:
1. Start the engine and wait until it reaches operating temperature.
2. Switch the gear selector to position “P”.
3. Press and hold the brake pedal.
4. Shift the gear selector to the following position: N (neutral) > R (reverse) > N > D (drive) > N.
5. Release the brake pedal.
6. Wait 10 seconds.
7. Start the engine and shift the gear selector to position “D”.
For cars with automatic transmission 09G:
1. Start the engine and wait until it reaches operating temperature.
2. Switch the gear selector to position “P”.
3. Turn off the ignition.
4. Wait 10 seconds.
5. While holding the brake pedal, turn the key to the “On” position, but do not start the engine.
6. Lower the gear selector lever to the “S” (Sport) position and hold it there for 5 seconds.
7. Shift the gear selector to position “D” and hold it there for 5 seconds.
8. Release the brake pedal.
9. Wait 10 seconds.
10. Start the engine and shift the gear selector to position “D”.
Notes:
* Make sure your car battery is charged.
*If you are unable to perform a manual reset, use a diagnostic scanner.
*After an adaptation reset, it may take some time for the transmission to adjust to your driving style.
