Resetting the emergency mode of the Mercedes-Benz automatic transmission

1. Stopping the car

* Stop the car in a safe place.
* Set the parking brake.
* Turn off the engine.

2. Disconnecting and reconnecting the battery

* Open the hood and disconnect the negative battery terminal.
* Wait 10 minutes for the capacitors to discharge.
* Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

3. Turning on the ignition

* Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
* Hold down the brake pedal for 30 seconds.

4. Starting the engine

* Release the brake pedal.
* Start the engine.

5. Reset fault codes

* After starting the engine, turn the ignition on and off three times in a row (but do not start the engine).
* For the fourth time, leave the ignition on for 10 seconds and then turn it off.

6. Checking the gearbox

* Shift the gear lever to all positions and return to the park position.
* Drive away and check if the transmission is working properly.

If the error persists:

*Consult an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer.

Note:

* Resetting the emergency mode does not eliminate the root cause of the problem.
* You should have the problem diagnosed and repaired by a qualified mechanic as soon as possible.
