Reset method via scanner (recommended)

1. Connect a Toyota scanner or compatible to the vehicle’s OBDII diagnostic connector.
2. Turn on the ignition, but do not start the engine.
3. Select the “Transmission” or “Automatic Transmission” menu on the scanner.
4. Find the function “Reset automatic transmission adaptation” or “Reset automatic transmission learning”.
5. Perform a reset according to the scanner instructions.

Reset method via battery terminal

Note: This method may reset other vehicle settings such as radio stations and seat settings.

1. Disconnect the negative (-) terminal of the battery for 10-15 minutes.
2. Reconnect the negative terminal.
3. Turn on the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
4. Turn off the engine.
5. Repeat steps 3-4 2-3 more times.
6. Take a test drive to see if the automatic transmission has improved.

Reset method by driving in “D” mode

1. Warm up the engine and transmission to operating temperature.
2. Move the gear selector to position “D”.
3. Accelerate to a speed of 40-50 km/h.
4. Release the accelerator and let the car coast for 10-15 seconds.
5. Press the accelerator again and accelerate.
6. Continue speeding up and slowing down for 10-15 minutes.
7. Move the gear selector to position “P”.

Note: Resetting the adaptation may take several trips before you notice an improvement in automatic transmission performance.
