Resetting automatic transmission adaptation on Freelander 2

Materials:

* OBDII scanner
* Scanning software

Steps:

1. Connect the OBDII scanner to the vehicle’s diagnostic port. It is usually located under the steering column.
2. Launch your scanning software.
3. Select Engine Control Module (ECM).
4. Find the “Reset automatic transmission adaptations” function. The location may vary depending on the software you are using.
5. Start the reset procedure.
6. The software will guide you through the step-by-step process of resetting adaptations. Typically this involves doing the following:

* Start the engine and warm it up to operating temperature.
* Shift gears alternately from D to N, P, R and back.
* Hold the brake pedal and change gears alternately from D to N, P, R and back.
* Shifting gears while driving.

7. Once the reset procedure is complete, the software will display a success message.
8. Disconnect the OBDII scanner and turn off the ignition.
9. Start the engine again. The gearbox should now work with the updated adaptations.

Note:

*The time required to complete the reset procedure varies depending on the software and vehicle model.
* When resetting adaptations, all saved automatic transmission settings will be lost.
* It is recommended to reset adaptations at an authorized service center if you are not confident in your technical skills.
