Tools:
* Mercedes-Benz scanner (Star Diagnosis or similar)
* Computer with Mercedes-Benz Star Diagnosis software installed
Procedure for resetting automatic transmission adaptation:
1. Connect the scanner to the vehicle’s OBDII diagnostic port.
2. Turn on the ignition without starting the engine.
3. Launch Star Diagnosis software on your computer.
4. Select the «Transmission» section in the program.
5. Go to the «Control Unit Adaptations» submenu.
6. Select «Automatic Transmission» from the drop-down menu.
7. Click the Reset Adaptation Values button.
8. Click «OK» on the confirmation pop-up window.
9. Wait a few minutes for the reset process to complete.
10. Turn off the ignition and wait 10 minutes.
11. Start the engine and check that the reset is successful.
Notes:
* It is recommended to reset the adaptation after changing the automatic transmission oil and filter, as well as if problems arise with gear shifting.
* The adaptation reset procedure can also be performed using a professional scanner that supports the specifics of Mercedes-Benz vehicles.
* If you notice unusual transmission behavior after resetting the adaptation, contact a qualified mechanic.
