Tools:

* OBD-II scanner
* OBD-II adapter

Procedure:

1. Make sure the engine is turned off. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the vehicle’s diagnostic connector.

2. Turn on the ignition. Do not start the engine.

3. Select the make, model and year of your vehicle. Follow the instructions on the OBD-II scanner.

4. Enter the “Automatic Transmission Control” menu. This may vary depending on the scanner you are using.

5. Select the “Reset Adaptation” option. You may have to confirm your action.

6. Wait for the reset to complete. The scanner will display a successful reset message.

7. Turn off the ignition. Disconnect the OBD-II scanner.

Note:

* The engine must be switched off during adaptation reset.
* After resetting the adaptation, it is necessary to repeat the automatic transmission training process. It will take about 50-100 km of driving under different conditions.
*If you have trouble performing this procedure, take it to a certified Kia mechanic.
