Required tools and materials:

* Wrench set
* Flat head screwdriver
* Phillips screwdriver
* Container for draining automatic transmission fluid
* New valve body gasket
* New automatic transmission fluid

Instructions:

1. Ensure safety. Apply the parking brake, install wheel spacers, and allow the engine to cool.

2. Drain the automatic transmission fluid. Place a container under the automatic transmission pan and loosen the drain plug. Wait until all the liquid has drained out.

3. Disconnect the automatic transmission cooling pipes. Disconnect the nuts securing the cooling pipes from the valve body. Use an adjustable wrench to loosen the nuts slightly and then remove the tubes by hand.

4. Remove the hydraulic unit electrical connector. Press the latches of the electrical connector and disconnect it from the valve body.

5. Remove the valve body mounting bolts. Using a wrench, remove the bolts securing the valve body to the automatic transmission housing.

6. Remove the valve body. Carefully remove the valve body from the automatic transmission housing. Be careful not to damage the seals or gasket.

7. Clean surfaces. Clean the surfaces of the valve body and automatic transmission housing from old gasket and sealant.

8. Install a new gasket. Apply a small amount of sealant to the new gasket and install it in place.

9. Install the valve body. Carefully install the valve body onto the automatic transmission housing and tighten the fastening bolts.

10. Connect the automatic transmission cooling pipes. Tighten the cooling pipe nuts by hand, and then tighten them using an adjustable wrench.

11. Connect the hydraulic unit electrical connector. Press the latches of the electrical connector and connect it to the valve body.

12. Fill the automatic transmission fluid. Fill the automatic transmission with fresh fluid according to the manufacturer’s specifications.

13. Check the automatic transmission fluid level. Check the automatic transmission fluid level using the dipstick and add if necessary.

14. Clean the automatic transmission pan and install it back. Clean the automatic transmission pan and install a new gasket. Tighten the pan mounting bolts.

15. Reset the automatic transmission learning counter. Using a diagnostic scanner, reset the automatic transmission learning counter.
