How to remove the automatic transmission emergency mode in Mazda cars:

1. Stop the car. Park your vehicle safely on a level surface.

2. Turn off the engine.

3. Switch the automatic transmission selector to the “parking” position.

4. Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Use a wrench or adjustable wrench to loosen the terminal and remove it.

5. Wait 10 minutes. This will allow the capacitors in the automatic transmission control system to discharge.

6. Connect the negative terminal of the battery. Tighten the terminal clamp using a wrench or adjustable wrench.

7. Start the engine.

Note:

*If the emergency mode does not clear, repeat the steps.
* If the emergency mode continues to occur, contact a qualified mechanic.
*Some Mazda models may require a diagnostic scan tool to be connected to clear fault codes that caused the limp mode.
