Tools and materials:

* Set of wrenches and sockets
* Solvent
* Rags
* New O-ring

Steps:

1. Ensure safety.

* Set the car to the parking brake.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Allow the engine to cool.

2. Prepare to remove the drive.

* Drain the transmission fluid from the automatic transmission.
* Remove the wheel from the corresponding side of the car.
* Use solvent and a brush to clean the area around the drive.

3. Disconnect the drive from the wheel hub.

* Loosen the wheel hub nut.
* Tap the edge of the brake disc or drum with a hammer to release the drive from the hub.
* Slide the drive outward from the hub shaft.

4. Disconnect the drive from the automatic transmission.

*The inside of the spline joint can be attached to the transmission flange.
* Place a wrench or socket on the bolts securing the flange to the transmission.
* Loosen and remove the bolts.
* Carefully pull the drive outward until the spline comes out of the transmission flange.

5. Check the O-ring.

* Remove the old O-ring from the end of the drive.
* Inspect the ring for damage or wear.
* If necessary, replace the O-ring with a new one.

6. Install the drive.

* Lubricate the drive splines with transmission fluid.
* Insert the drive into the spline on the transmission flange.
* Install the bolts securing the flange to the transmission and tighten them.
* Connect the drive to the hub shaft and tighten the hub nut.
* Install the wheel.

7. Fill with transmission fluid.

* Fill the gearbox with transmission fluid.
* Check the fluid level and add if necessary.

8. Check operation.

* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
* Shift gears and listen to outside noises.
