Required tools:
* Screwdriver set
* Pliers
Steps:
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. This will prevent accidental short circuit or damage.
2. Remove the gear shift boot. It is usually secured with latches or screws.
3. Disconnect the connectors. Locate the electrical connectors connected to the gear selector and disconnect them.
4. Unscrew the fastening bolts. The bolts that secure the shift selector to the console are usually located around the base of the selector. Unscrew them using a screwdriver.
5. Raise the gear selector. Carefully lift the gear selector up to loosen its connection to the cable.
6. Disconnect the shift cable. Locate the shift cable connected to the shift selector and disconnect it by pressing the latch or release button.
7. Remove the gear selector. You can now remove the gear selector from the console.

* Handle the shift cable carefully as it can be easily damaged.
* After installing the new shift selector, make sure the shift cable is adjusted properly.
