Step 1: Determine the location of the automatic transmission selector.
* The automatic transmission selector is located on the center console.
Step 2: Remove the automatic transmission selector cover.
*Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws on the underside of the cover.
* Disconnect and remove the cover.
Step 3: Disconnect the automatic transmission selector cable.
* Press the lock on the end of the automatic transmission selector cable and disconnect the cable from the selector lever.
Step 4: Unscrew the automatic transmission selector lever nut.
* Using a 17 mm wrench, unscrew the nut located on the base of the automatic transmission selector lever, directly under the cover.
Step 5: Remove the automatic transmission selector lever.
* Pull the automatic transmission selector lever up and remove it from the base.
Step 6: Disconnect the electrical connector.
* There is an electrical connector at the bottom of the automatic transmission selector. Disconnect the connector by pressing the latch and pulling it towards you.
Step 7: Remove the automatic transmission selector.
* Once you have disconnected all connections, carefully pull the transmission selector upward to remove it completely.
