Required tools:
* Flat head screwdriver
* Screwdriver (Phillips)
Instructions:
1. Safety First: Set the parking brake and turn off the engine.
2. Remove the center console cover: Use a flathead screwdriver to carefully pry off the edge of the center console cover on the driver’s side. Remove the cover.
3. Disconnect the connector: There is a connector on the rear side of the automatic transmission selector. Press the connector latch and disconnect it.
4. Remove the protective cover: Below the connector there is a small protective cover attached with two Phillips screws. Remove the screws and remove the casing.
5. Access the Lock Button: Underneath the protective cover is a small lock button. Press this button and simultaneously pull the automatic transmission selector up and back.
6. Remove the automatic transmission selector: Once the lock button is pressed, you can remove the automatic transmission selector by pulling it straight up.

* Do not use excessive force when removing parts.
*If you cannot find the lock button, consult the repair manual for your specific Lancer model.
* When installing the automatic transmission selector in place, make sure that it is correctly installed and secured with the lock button.
