Materials:
* Phillips screwdriver or hex screwdriver
* 10 mm wrench (optional)
Instructions:
1. Disconnect the battery: Open the hood and remove the negative terminal from the battery.
2. Remove the bezel: Carefully remove the bezel around the shift knob. To do this, use a Phillips screwdriver or a hex screwdriver.
3. Unscrew the gear shift button: Using a 10mm wrench or a suitable screwdriver, unscrew the shift button. The button is usually secured with a single bolt or secured with a clamp.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector: Disconnect the electrical connector from the shift button by pressing the clip or latches on both sides.
5. Unscrew the screws of the automatic transmission handle: There are several screws located under the gear shift button. Remove these screws using a Phillips or hex screwdriver.
6. Remove the automatic transmission handle: Remove the automatic transmission handle from the gear shift shaft. It is usually a tight fit and may require some force to remove.
Assembly:
To reassemble the automatic transmission handle, perform the following steps in reverse order:
1. Place the automatic transmission handle onto the gear shift shaft.
2. Tighten the automatic transmission handle screws.
3. Connect the electrical connector to the gear shift button.
4. Tighten the shift button and install the bezel.
5. Connect the battery terminal.
Adviсe:
* Do not lose the spring from the gear shift button.
* Be careful when tightening screws as over-tightening may damage the shift knob or shift shaft.
* If you have difficulty removing the shift knob, try wiggling it a little or spraying the shift shaft with WD-40 or other lubricant.
