Tools and materials:
* Set of socket wrenches
* Set of ratchet wrenches
* Extension for socket heads
* Cardan joint
* Jack and stands
* Container for draining transmission fluid
* New oil pan gasket
* New O-ring for oil dipstick
* New automatic transmission filter (if necessary)
Automatic transmission removal procedure:
1. Preparation
* Place the car on a level surface.
* Apply the parking brake.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Drain the transmission fluid.
2. Removing the oil pan
* Remove the bolts securing the oil pan.
* Carefully separate the pan from the automatic transmission.
* Clean the pan and the adjacent surface of the automatic transmission.
* Install a new pan gasket.
3. Disconnecting connectors and tubes
* Disconnect the electrical connectors from the automatic transmission.
* Disconnect the transmission fluid cooler pipes.
* Disconnect the vacuum tube, if equipped.
* Disconnect the gear shift cable from the automatic transmission.
4. Disconnection from the engine
* Remove the bolts securing the automatic transmission to the engine.
* Install a jack and stands under the automatic transmission.
* Carefully separate the automatic transmission from the engine.
5. Removing the torque converter
* Remove the bolts securing the torque converter to the flywheel.
* Carefully remove the torque converter from the flywheel.
6. Removing the automatic transmission
* Slowly pull the automatic transmission out from under the hood.
* Carefully lower the automatic transmission to the ground.
* Install the plug on the oil dipstick hole.
Install the automatic transmission on a Toyota Corolla 110 body in the reverse order. After installing the automatic transmission, fill it with new transmission fluid.
