Steps to remove an automatic transmission (AT) from a Nissan Prairie:
Materials:
* Jack and stands
* Wrench set
* Flat head screwdriver
* Transmission puller (if necessary)
* One hundred ring remover (if necessary)
Procedure:
1. Ensure safety. Place the vehicle in park, apply the parking brake and block the wheels.
2. Raise the car. Use a jack to lift the car and place it on stands.
3. Remove the air filter and air filter housing. This will provide access to the engine and transmission.
4. Disconnect the sensor connectors. Disconnect all electrical connectors connected to the automatic transmission.
5. Disconnect the throttle cables and shift lever.
6. Remove the wiring harness. Disconnect the wiring harness from the automatic transmission and move it to the side.
7. Disconnect the automatic transmission cooling lines. Disconnect the automatic transmission cooling lines from the radiator or heat exchanger.
8. Remove the starter. Remove the bolts holding the starter to the engine and carefully remove it.
9. Unscrew the lower automatic transmission mounting bolts. Use a wrench to remove the lower bolts holding the transmission to the engine.
10. Support the automatic transmission. Place a jack or transmission lift under the transmission to support its weight.
11. Unscrew the side bolts securing the automatic transmission. Use a wrench to remove the side bolts that secure the transmission to the engine.
12. Carefully separate the automatic transmission from the engine. Slowly and carefully move the transmission away from the engine, using a transmission puller if necessary.
13. Remove the transmission pan. Unscrew the bolts securing the transmission pan and carefully remove it.
14. Remove the torque converter. Using a ring remover, remove the race ring from the torque converter and carefully remove it.
Notes:
* Care must be taken when removing the automatic transmission side bolts, as they may be tightly tightened.
* When disconnecting wiring harnesses, be careful not to damage the connectors.
* Make sure all connectors and coolant lines are properly disconnected before removing the automatic transmission.
* It is recommended to use a transmission lift or jack to support the weight of the automatic transmission when removing it.
