Tools and materials:

* Set of wrenches
* Flat blade screwdriver
* Hammer
*Additional gearbox (optional)
* Transmission fluid
* Automatic transmission pan

Instructions for removing the automatic transmission:

1. Ensure safety. Place the car on a level surface, set the parking brake and disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Drain the transmission fluid. Disconnect the drain plug on the transmission pan and drain the fluid into a suitable container.
3. Disconnect hoses and wires. Loosen the clamps and disconnect all hoses and wires connected to the transmission. Label each connector and wire to make reconnection easier.
4. Remove the starter. Unscrew the bolts securing the starter and remove it from the car.
5. Disconnect the drive shafts. Disconnect the drive shafts from the transmission using a suitable wrench.
6. Unscrew the pan bolts. Remove the bolts securing the transmission pan, but do not remove it yet.
7. Remove the cross member. Loosen and remove the cross member supporting the transmission.
8. Move the gearbox back. Carefully slide the transmission back, being careful not to damage any components.
9. Support the gearbox. Place a jack under the transmission for support.
10. Unscrew the gearbox mounting bolts. Remove the bolts securing the gearbox to the engine.
11. Remove the gearbox. Carefully remove the transmission from the vehicle, supporting it with a jack.
12. Install an additional gearbox. If you are installing an optional transmission, follow the steps in reverse to install it.

Notes:

* Be careful when handling transmission fluid as it may be hot and slippery.
* Use a new automatic transmission pan gasket when reassembling.
* When installing a new transmission, it is recommended to replace the drive shaft seals.
* Drain and replace transmission fluid after installing a new transmission.
