Tools and materials:
* Wrench set
* Flat head screwdriver
* Torx screwdriver (T-30 – T-40)
* Jack
* Car stand
* Transmission fluid (type ATF+4)
* New transmission pan gasket
Removal procedure:
1. Prepare the car:
* Place the car on a level surface.
* Place wheel chocks under the wheels.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
2. Raise the car:
* Raise the front of the car using a jack.
* Install stands under the car for security.
3. Drain the transmission fluid:
* Place a large container under the transmission pan.
* Remove the drain plug using a wrench and drain the fluid.
* Reinstall the drain plug with a new gasket.
4. Disconnect the connectors:
* Locate the sensor connectors on the transmission.
* Disconnect them carefully by prying with a flat-head screwdriver.
5. Disconnect the shafts:
*Use wrenches to remove the drive shafts from the transmission.
*If necessary, use a hammer and mandrel to separate the shafts.
6. Disconnect the wiring harnesses:
* Carefully disconnect all wiring harnesses and lines from the transmission.
7. Disconnect the engine mount mounting:
* Identify the bolts securing the engine mount to the transmission.
* Remove the bolts using a wrench.
8. Remove the gearbox:
* Use a Torx screwdriver (T-30 – T-40) to remove the bolts connecting the transmission to the engine.
* Carefully move the transmission away from the engine until it is lowered.
* Support the gearbox during lowering.
9. Replacing the gasket:
* Remove the old gasket from the transmission pan.
* Install a new gasket.
10. Gearbox installation:
* Raise the gearbox to the installation position.
* Align it with the engine and tighten the bolts with a Torx screwdriver.
* Screw on the engine mount mount.
11. Connecting components:
* Connect the drive shafts, wiring harnesses and piping.
*Connect sensors.
12. Filling with transmission fluid:
* Fill the gearbox with the required amount of transmission fluid.
* Check the fluid level and add if necessary.
13. Lowering the car:
* Remove the stands and lower the vehicle to the ground.
14. Battery connection:
* Connect the negative terminal of the battery.
15. ECU reset (if necessary):
*Some models require the ECU to be reset after removing the transmission. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the appropriate model.
Warnings and Tips:
* Work on a level surface to prevent the vehicle from tipping over.
* Use proper tools and follow correct procedures to prevent damage to components.
*Make sure the new transmission pan gasket is installed correctly to prevent leaks.
* Tighten all bolts and nuts to the recommended torque.
* Check the transmission fluid level after the vehicle warms up and shifts gears.
