Required tools and materials:
* Set of keys or ratchets
*Socket set
* Oil pan remover
* Sealant for oil pan
* New transmission oil and filter
* Oil drain pan
Steps:
1. Preparatory steps:
* Apply the parking brake.
* Place the vehicle on stands or jack it up and secure it.
* Disconnect the battery.
2. Draining transmission oil:
* Locate the transmission oil pan.
* Install an oil drain pan under the transmission.
* Unscrew the drain plug using a hex wrench.
*Wait for the oil to drain.
3. Removing the oil pan:
*Use the oil pan puller to remove the oil pan from the transmission.
*You may need to lightly tap the tray to loosen it.
* Remove the oil pan.
4. Cleaning the oil pan and replacing the filter:
* Clean the oil pan of gasket and sealant residues.
* Replace the transmission filter with a new one.
5. Installing the oil pan:
* Apply sealant to the mating surface of the oil pan.
* Reinstall the oil pan and tighten the bolts using a torque wrench to the specified torque.
6. Gearbox installation:
* Make sure the transmission input and output shafts are aligned with the holes in the transmission.
* Lift the gearbox and install it in place.
* Tighten the transmission bolts using a torque wrench to the specified torque.
7. Oil filling:
* Fill the gearbox with gear oil through the filler hole.
* Check the oil level using the dipstick and add if necessary.
8. Battery connection:
* Connect the battery.
9. Leak check:
* Start the engine and let it idle.
*Check under the gearbox for leaks.
10. Reset service counter (if required):
*If the vehicle is equipped with a system that requires the service counter to be reset after changing the transmission oil, follow the appropriate procedure.
