Signs of an automatic transmission (AT):

* Shift Knob: Typically has letter designations (P, R, N, D, L) indicating Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, and Low gear modes.
* Selector. The gear shift lever is located on the center console or on the steering column.
* Driving modes: The automatic transmission has various driving modes (P, R, N, D, L), which are selected by the selector.
* Gear shifting: Gear shifting occurs automatically depending on vehicle speed and throttle position.
*Transmission Fluid: Automatic transmissions use transmission fluid (ATF) to lubricate and transmit power.

Signs of a variator (CVT):

* Shift Knob: Typically has little or no markings.
* Selector: The gear selector is usually located on the center console or on the steering wheel and has a limited number of positions (P, R, N, D).
* Driving Mode: CVT provides smooth gear changes without noticeable shock.
* Gear Ratio: The CVT’s gear ratio constantly changes depending on vehicle speed and throttle position, providing optimal acceleration and fuel consumption.
*No Gears: A CVT does not have traditional gears, but instead uses pulleys and a belt to transfer power from the engine to the transmission.
