Automatic transmission (automatic transmission)

* Shift Lever: Has a traditional P-R-N-D-L (or similar) pattern.
*No Clutch Pedal: There is no need to press the clutch pedal when changing gears.
* Smooth shifting: Gear shifts smoothly without jerking or vibration.
* Hydraulic or electronic control unit: Shifts are carried out using hydraulic fluid or electronic signals.

Robotic gearbox (manual transmission)

* Shift Lever: May be similar to an automatic transmission, but often has less travel and shorter travel.
* Presence of a clutch pedal: Some manual transmissions have a clutch pedal, which is used during parking and maneuvering at low speeds.
* Shift Jerky: Gears may shift with noticeable jerking or vibration.
* Electronic control unit: Shifts are carried out using electronic signals that control the clutch and gears.

Checking the gearbox type

To accurately determine your transmission type, follow these steps:

1. Remove the ignition key from the lock.
2. Press the brake pedal.
3. Move the gear shift lever to position D (drive). If the car moves forward, it is most likely an automatic transmission.
4. Try to roll the car manually. If the car doesn’t move, it probably has a manual transmission.
5. Look under the hood and check for the presence of a clutch pedal on the master cylinder. If there is a clutch pedal, it is a manual transmission.
