Safety first:

* Before removing the transmission, set the vehicle to the parking brake and block the wheels with wheel chocks.
* Disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.
* Cool the power unit, allow it to cool for several hours.

Tools and materials:

* Set of wrenches and sockets
* Torque converter bolt wrench
* Transmission jack
* Funnel and fluid for automatic transmission
* Transmission pan gasket

Removal process:

1. Draining the automatic transmission fluid:

* Remove the transmission pan.
* Place a container to drain the automatic transmission fluid.
* Drain the automatic transmission fluid.

2. Disconnecting sensors and wires:

* Disconnect all sensors, electrical connectors and vacuum hoses associated with the transmission.

3. Disconnecting drives:

* Remove the CV joint protective covers from the drive joints.
* Using a torque converter socket wrench, loosen the bolts securing the torque converter to the engine flywheel.
* Unscrew the bolts securing the drives to the wheel hubs and separate the drives from the gearbox.

4. Engine and gearbox support:

* Place a transmission jack under the transmission and engine.

5. Disconnecting the engine from the gearbox:

* Unscrew the upper and lower bolts securing the gearbox to the engine.
* Carefully separate the transmission from the engine.

6. Removing the gearbox:

* Lower the transmission using a transmission jack.
* Pull the gearbox out from under the car.

Adviсe:

*Before removing the transmission, mark the connectors and shafts to facilitate reinstallation.
* Be careful when removing bolts as some may be too tight.
*Use new transmission pan gaskets and torque bolts to manufacturer specifications.
